Meet Our Physicians
Dr. Toma J Timothy
Dr. Timothy grew up in Powell River BC. He attended Trinity Western University for his Undergraduate education in Biology and Human Kinetics, and completed medical school at University of British Columbia. He completed his post graduate training at the University of Alberta. Dr. Timothy has many interests including spending time with his wife and two daughters. Dr. Timothy enjoys being outdoors; Fishing, snowboarding and mountain biking. Dr. Timothy has special interests in family health care and First Nations health, Dr. Timothy is also a Clinical Instructor with the UBC Medical Faculty.
Dr. Rajeev Mangat
Dr. Mangat was born in Duncan BC, and later moved to Richmond and then South Surrey. He graduated from SFU with Kinesiology. He practiced as a chiropractor in Surrey for nine years before pursuing a career in family medicine. Dr. Mangat completed his residency at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Mangat's medical interests include sports medicine, soft tissue injuries, worker's compensation, MVAs and full scope family practice. His hobbies include hockey and biking. A proud father of two girls Dr. Mangat is happy to have a home base in White Rock.
Dr. Manraj Johal
Dr. Johal grew up in Surrey and graduated from Semiahmoo Secondary. He obtained his undergraduate education in behavioral neuroscience from UBC. Dr. Johal completed his post-graduate training as the Chief Resident in family medicine at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital in Tallahassee, Florida. Dr. Johal's professional interests include participation with the Peace Arch Hospital's Hospitalist program, preventative medicine and complex disease management. Dr. Johal is also a Clinical Instructor with the UBC Medical Faculty Outside of work Dr. Johal enjoys playing Hockey, Tennis, snowboarding and spending time outdoors.
Meet Our Staff
Senior Medical Office Assistant
Melissa has five years experience working in full service family practice as well as walk in clinics. She also has experience working with medical billing and accounts receivable management for a large medical billing company. At Uptown Medical Clinic Melissa is responsible for all the day to day management of the clinic, as well as all billing, WCB, ICBC and insurance and lawyers requests. Melissa is also involved with the Physicians Information Technology Organization as a "peer mentor" and with the Division of Family practice as a member of the Community of Practice. Outside of work Melissa enjoys all things out doors from playing Soccer and Baseball to Cycling and Camping.
Medical Office Assistant and Referral Desk
Marley has been working as a Medical Office Assistant for ten years. Marley has experience working in a Podiatry office as well as Full scope family practice and walk in clinics. Marley can be found on most work days at the front reception. Marley also is responsible for maintaining the referrals from our office, for specialists, medical exams and other clinics. Marley enjoys spending time with her husband and two young daughters. She loves to take her family to the beach whether here in White Rock or on their family vacation to Maui.
Medical Office Assistant and Scanning Clerk
Megan a new Medical Office Assistant started with us the summer of 2012. Megan works with us part time as she works on completing her BSC in Nursing. Megan can be seen working at the reception desk or in the back office maintaining our electronic filing. Outside of work and studies Megan enjoys reading, spending time with her family and camping.
Medical Office Assistant
As the newest member to our Uptown team, Kerry joins us boasting over twenty years experience as a Medical Office Assistant. Kerry works part time and can be seen in the afternoons running our busy front end desk. Kerry has also taken on the project of maintaining our interventions. This is important for the ongoing and proactive health care our office provides. Outside of work Kerry enjoys keeping an active lifestyle and looks forward to her annual family vacation which is always somewhere warm.
